Reset a phone nobody can open
Clear every account off a phone when nobody knows the password it was set up with, then set it up again.
- Where
- Practice phone app
- Who can do this
- Administrator, Doctor, Midwife, Nurse, Reception, Billing and Staff
Use this only when nobody holds the password a phone was set up with, for example when the phone was handed on without its owner. Resetting removes every account on the phone so somebody can set it up afresh.
Before you start
Any work saved on the phone that has not been sent is lost for good when you reset it. Nobody, not even RizCare, can get it back. If anyone still knows the password for one of the accounts, open that account and let its work send first.
Steps
- On the password screen, tap Nobody has this phone's password.
- Read Set up this phone again?. It names the accounts that will go.
- Type This phone in the box that asks you to type it to confirm.
- Tap Reset this phone.
- On Sign in to set up this phone, set the phone up with your own account.
What to expect
The phone returns to Sign in to set up this phone, as if RizCare had just been installed. Everything that had already reached the practice comes back onto the phone when somebody signs in and sets it up again.
